  1. Hi Room 5 tamariki
It is great to see you all doing your part for Conservation week. I hope to that you will continue to do your part when Conservation week finishes.
    I'm very curious to know...
How much rubbish did you collect over this week? Are we doing a good job at keeping our school litter free? What could we do to cut down the amount of litter around our school?

  2. Kia ora Room 3,

We collected 3 shopping bags of rubbish over the whole of Conservation Week. Most of the rubbish we collected was chip packets and plastic wrap. Makarewa is doing a pretty good job of keeping the school tidy however the gardens and the hedges have lots of rubbish in them. We are going to go out a couple of times a week and clean these areas.

We think Makarewa could reduce rubbish by...
    > Not bringing chips in packets and stuff in Gladwrap, instead we could bring them in reusable containers like lunch boxes with compartments or Gladware containers.

    >Margarine containers could be reused as well and we think we could have a competition to decorate them and make them look cool!

Thank you for commenting on our blog

    Love Room 5
